About a 45/60 minute drive from Chiang Mai you will arrive at the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden. A beautiful place to spend the whole day. And with the route you will already be rewarded, because this is already worth it!

1,000 acre botanical garden

The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is a botanical garden of about 1,000 hectares and is therefore a green paradise. A whole diversity of flowers, plants and trees that you can find here. Not only from Thailand, but from all over the world.

To visit this botanical garden in Chiang Mai, it is super convenient if you have your own scooter. You can drive there from Chiang Mai. Also within the garden you need a scooter to see different parts. With 1000 hectares, walking is simply impossible and you will only see a small part of the park. And that would be a real shame.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai

The garden stands in stark contrast to the bustling streets of Chiang Mai, making it an ideal place to escape and unwind. And as you drive around winding paths with your scooter, you have several stops to continue on foot. From a banana plantation and several large greenhouses to a large glass bridge (Canopy Walks) that rises high above the trees and offers amazing views.

There are also greenhouses where they can show plants from all over the world, such as cacti, rainforest and typical aquatic plants.

Opening hours & entrance fees

One of the best things about the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is that it is both accessible and affordable. The garden is located 30 km from the center of Chiang Mai. And it is open every day, except public holidays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden's entrance fee is really little, making it a great option for budget travelers like me.

In short, Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves nature and wants to experience the diversity of Thailand and the rest of the world's flora.

I am impressed by the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden. It is one of my highlights of Chiang Mai. A hidden gem and is definitely recommended to go here when visiting Chiang Mai.
