Up-to-date travel information with the Travel App from the Dutch government
The app from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (BZ) has the most up-to-date practical travel information for baggage, emergencies, currency conversion, Corona, safety risks, traffic and embassy information.
If there is a change in the travel advice for your destination (only applies to your favorites), you will receive a notification directly before and during your trip.
This makes this Travel App very useful for finding up-to-date travel advice. You can also download your destination, so that you can also find travel information without internet. However, you will need internet to update to the latest information.
Luggage
You can easily find what you can and cannot take with you in your (hand) luggage. money, medicines, animals, plants, food (food, drinks), drugs and tobacco.
For example, you are not allowed to take a drone to Morocco. If you do, you will have to hand it in upon arrival and you will not see it again.
By the way, there is a difference between inside and outside the EU, so be sure to check this before you start packing.
Emergencies
Hopefully you won't have to check this, but in this Travel App you will find information on what to do in case of emergencies, such as hospitalization, death, arrest,
Converting units
You can easily convert the local currency to euros. You can also convert other units, such as volume (liter) and weight (kilogram) to units that are common to us.
Entering with expensive products
If you re-enter the Netherlands with expensive products over 430 euros, such as a laptop, camera or drone, it is possible that Customs will ask you if you bought it at your destination. The best thing to do is to take a photo of your purchase or warranty certificate and store it in the app. This way you can prove that you bought these products in the Netherlands and avoid uncomfortable situations.
